One’s personal participation in the memorial is meant to remind us about the personal participation in the event which is pictured. It set the household apart from the rest of Egypt. Both celebrations are designed to take us into the life-changing moments of God’s deliverance. It’s not that we forget totally, but we can easily develop a mindset that doesn’t place the right value on what should be the most defining moment of our lives. But they did not give up.
